Claire's: Cloud 9 De Blanc Whitening Cream Review

Hello beauties~
Sorry for the delay, but I am finally back with a new review!
This time it is on the Claire's Cloud 9 De Blanc Whitening Cream! (buy here)
I stumbled across this product when I was browsing Memebox.
It has actually been quite a while since I purchased this product so I had a lot of time to get a feel for how it is.
If you guys know, most Asian countries hold up fair, pale skin as an ideal beauty trait.
There are many whitening products out on the asian market that promise to have a "brightening" and "whitening" effect.

What the product does:
This cream is enriched and fortified with natural organic herbs that offers an instant whitening effect that lasts up to 12 hours. With continuous usage, it also effectively lightens dark UV spots, reduces redness, diminishes freckles, and evens out skin tone. It treats damaged skin and offers extreme rejuvenation to keep the skin radiant and healthy-looking all day.

First off let me tell you what I like about this product:
-simple packaging
-comes with a spatula
-unique cottage cheese like texture
-immediate evening out of tone
-subtle yet light whitening effect

The texture when you scoop the product out of the jar is a nice jelly type.
It is firm, but when you spread it out with the warmth of your finger tips it blends into the skin easily.

You can tell from the picture above that it is easy to blend.

I applied this product on the white side of my hand and you can already tell the difference.

Now... what I do not like about this product is that it is so DRYING.
For someone with dry skin like me, this is a big NO.
No matter how much moisturizer I layer on before and after using this product, this still somehow manages to dry my skin out.
My skin feels taut and dehydrated after an hour.
Also, although it does even out my skin tone and has a whitening effect, the drying aspect of this lotion is too much to counter act the benefits.
Even the Vanishing Balm that I reviewed before is not as drying.
For $20 I guess it is decent, but it is not something I will recommend.
Actually, I have only used this a few times and it is just sitting on my vanity as decor...
I think I will try purchasing the 3CE Milk Cream instead and just throw this one out.
Stay Beautiful!
